So I got the opportunity to try out some hair extensions from Knappy Hair Extensions. I’ve never used clip-ins before so I was excited to see how I would use these.
To start off this set came with 9 clip ins:
4 – with 2 clips
2 – with 3 clips
2 – with 4 clips
1 – with 5 clips
The set also came with 2 additional clips you can sew-in, if additional support is needed, weft sealer (which I did seal the wefts) and care instructions.
I decided to use these clip-ins and install them all over my entire head, and have a little bit of leave out. and this worked out great. The style that I got was the Kinky Coarse 18″. Which was perfect. because it was just as long as my natural hair, so it was believable and not exaggerated, as you can see from the picture below.
Being that this is the first time I’ve used clip-ins, I was pleasantly surprised. If you want to see how I installed these clip ins, make sue to check our the video HERE.
Go check out these website for KRS Hair group: https://fbit.co/2ENl. They also offer wefts that you can sew-in, as well as closures, so you are bound to find something that suits what you are looking for.
FTC: Thank you to Knappy Hair Extensions for sponsoring this post.
Finally!! I am here with my updated hair care regimen. This has been one the most requested items for me to do and I am finally getting to it.
Over the past year a few things have changed and few things have stayed the same. Also just to let you know all the products I mention in the post can be found in my Amazon Store HERE. Please note this is only going to focus on my MUST HAVE ITEMS and nothing else. I may do a separate post with my top 5 styling products, but for I’m gonna stick to basics of what actually contributes to my hair health, strength and growth. So let me jump right into it. This is my review on the King Me Hair (Kurly). I was so excited when I received this hair.
Once I installed it, no one even notice that it wasn’t my hair. The Kurly is the perfect match to my hair and very easy to blend. I HIGHLY recommend this hair. I have a 20inch and 18 inch installed.
Hey Guys!!! I am back with another review. This is on a new and growing product line called Curly Twirls.
This line launched back in 2012 and is already in hundreds of beauty stores across the US. They are continuing to grow and expand more states over the next few months. So If you haven’t seen these products in your area yet, you will soon :-). These products are all free of Glycol, Paraben, Mineral Oil and Petrolatum. they also contain Argan Oil. The price point for these products is $5.99!!! VERY affordable.
So I wanted to quickly list some of my favorite styling products (Don’t forget to check out the video as well, HERE!).
For blow drying, right now I am using the Carol’s Daughter Chocolat Smoothing Line. I don’t blow dry my hair that often right now, but when I do I do reach for this line. I really have been enjoying. Tip: When using the blow dry cream, DO NOT apply a leave-in conditioner before applying the blow dry cream. Your hair will feel like it has some build up. The Blow Dry Cream acts as a leave in and heat protectant. If you feel you must apply something before, use a light oil i.e., coconut oil or grapeseed oil. So you guys know I have been loving the Cantu for Natural Hair Line. So I have another review from the line for you guys, the Twist and Lock Gel. The product claims to lock in moisture, control frizz, lightweight and non-flaking. What it claimed to do, IT DID!! I was super surprised. I love when a product does what it says it is going to do.
Yes I know I am so late getting this out, but my products don’t change too often, so you haven’t missed anything. With that being said I am just going to jump right into it, don’t forget to check out my video as well for more information.
In the past, I always alternated hot oil treatments and deep conditioning, week to week, but now I do them on the same week. I do prefer to deep condition over night, that is unless I am using coconut oil for my hot oil treatment, then I like using that as an overnight treatment instead. I generally wash my hair once a week. In the warmer months I co-wash SOMETIMES in between my weekly washes.
So started a protective style challenge back in September 2012. It was originally not on purpose, LOL, I just realized I spent the whole month of September in constant protective styles, so I decided just to continue doing so. My goal was to keep my hair in protective/low manipulation hair styles until my 2 year Naturalversary (which was April 9th, 2013).
Once I started my PSC, I was kind of bored. In the beginning all I was doing was different variations of the Marley Bun…LOL. Which don’t get me wrong I love my Marley Bun, but I just couldn’t justify doing that for the next 6 months…LOL. So eventually I stopped thinking about and just did styles as I thought of them, as you will see some examples below.
I did give my hair a break a day or two, here and there. Just to give my edges and nape a break as well. Also, before I decided to start my challenge, I already had a scheduled heat pass for October, for Fernando’s birthday, which I still took; at that time I blew out my hair (pictured below). First, I would like to say thank you to Cantu for contacting me to try these products out. Everyone knows that the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner has been a staple in my hair regimen since before I even went natural and I swear by it to this day.
So I was given the opportunity to try out 3 out of the 6 Cantu Shea Butter for Naturals hair products. I was sent the Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream, Coconut Curling Cream and the Coconut Milk Shine & Hold Mist. All of these products contain No Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Parabens, Silicone, Phthalates, Gluten, Paraffin, Propylene, PABA or DEA. These products are very inexpensive retailing way under $10 and very accessible. I did a review and demo on my YouTube Channel, which you can check out here. I just want to go through and some of my pros and cons on each product.
I was contacted my a representative of Ouidad, and was given the opportunity to try out their new Curl Co-Wash Conditioner (Sulfate, Silicone & Paraben Free).
This product is described as being, a rich low-lathering, sulfate-free cleansing conditioner that leaves the hair moisturized , soft and frizz-free while gently clearing hair of buildup. It is for all hair types and textures.
It contains Black Cumin Seed Oil, Jamaican Black Oil, Rosemary & Sage Oils. Which these oils are great for conditioning and refreshing the hair and also delivers great shine.
I co-washed my hair in six sections. I allowed it to sit in my hair for about 5 mins or so, then detangled with my double detangler (which is also by Ouidad) , and rinsed my hair out. **NOTE: The double detangler was purchased by myself over a year ago. I have spoken on it before in the past and you guys know I LOVE that comb
I absolutely enjoyed this co-wash conditioner. It was fairly easy to detangle, which was a pleasant surprise. Once I rinsed it out, my hair felt soft and have a nice sheen to it. The lather was less than a shampoo, but more than a regular conditioner, I would say it is a happy medium, especially if you are more into co-washing (and not into shampooing). I feel like my hair and scalp were both clean but was not stripped.
The Price. Even though I personally don’t mind the price, I know a lot of people aren’t looking to spend that much. There are other products I have used to co wash with that give me similar results. But that low-lather in a conditioner is very rare to come by. If you are someone who co-washes daily, it may not be economical option.
Other than the price I actually really like This product. I will definitely continue to use it here and there until it is done, however I don’t think I will be repurchasing it, strictly because of the price. But if I do ever want to splurge, this is something DEFINITELY worth splurging for.
Disclaimer: This product was sent to me for review. I am not affiliated with this company. I am NOT being paid to make this video. This is my honest opinion on this product.
