Knappy Hair Extensions Initial Install (feat. Kinky Coarse 18″ Clip-Ins)

HairExtensions Install

Hey guys!!

So I got the opportunity to try out some hair extensions from Knappy Hair Extensions. I’ve never used clip-ins before so I was excited to see how I would use these.

To start off this set came with 9 clip ins:

  • 4 – with 2 clips
  • 2 – with 3 clips
  • 2 – with 4 clips
  • 1 –  with 5 clips

The set also came with 2 additional clips you can sew-in, if additional support is needed, weft sealer (which I did seal the wefts) and care instructions.

I decided to use these clip-ins and install them all over my entire head, and have a little bit of leave out. and this worked out great. The style that I got was the Kinky Coarse 18″. Which was perfect. because it was just as long as my natural hair, so it was believable and not exaggerated, as you can see from the picture below.

Being that this is the first time I’ve used clip-ins, I was pleasantly surprised. If you want to see how I installed these clip ins, make sue to check our the video HERE.

Go check out these website for KRS Hair group: https://fbit.co/2ENl. They also offer wefts that you can sew-in, as well as closures, so you are bound to find something that suits what you are looking for.

KenChar Line Review

HEY GUYS!!! SO I am finally back with another review. I haven’t done a review on my blog in a long tim, but I am back and I am VERY excited about this review.

Today I will be reviewing a line from a line called KenChar. So Let’s Jump Right into it.

So let’s start with the Soy Candles!

Candles

This was the 1st thing I’ve ever purchase from them. They are 100% Natural. These are considered their candles. So they are great on go if you are looking for a something to take with you when traveling. They have a wide variety of scents and I tell you NO lie…they smell EXACTLY how the label says AND once it’s lit it smells exactly how it does in the tin. The fragrance can fill the entire room so you don’t need multiple candle to scent one space. These are my absolute favorite candles I’ve ever purchased. My Personal Favorites are: Strawberry & Southern Peach.

Body

I was sent A few of their body products, The Coconut Lime Hand Whipped Body Butter, Coconut Flakes Scrub and the Island Body Sunflower and Shea Body Cream. The Coconut Flake Scrub is AMAZING! It creates a really nice “milky” kinda of lather and make it really feel Spa like. It beads that they used are very fine, so it is very gentle on the skin. I’ve only used one other scrub in the past and this one is just so different in texture and the consistency is something I’ve never seen in a scrub before. This is definitely something I HIGHLY recommend.  The Coconut Lime Whipped Body Butter is amazing! I is very moisturizing and kept my skin smooth all day. It also gave my skin a nice little “glow,” which I was really surprised about, something different. I wasn’t a really body butter lover in the past because I felt they were just TOO greasy. BUT, this one wasn’t, it absorbed right into my skin without sticking out to my clothes. Another thing I want to mention is the Shea Scents pocket-sized butter tins (not pictured). These are great to carry in your bag to re-moisturize your hands or body. I also used this to add moisture to my hair as well. Lastly, The Island Body Sunflower & Shea Body Cream it is a lighter texture so it still moisturizes very well, but not over whelming. The scent is more of a floral, unlike the Coconut Lime, which is more or an herbal/fruity scent.

Now One to the most exciting things that I was scent….THE HAIR PRODUCTS!!! Now I have been buying KenChar candles for the past 2-3 years…and I NEVER knew they sold hair products.

Hair

First thing I tried was the Curly Roots Coconut Conditioning Cream. At first when I looked at it, I thought it was a styler of some sort. But, after reading the label It says I can use a regular rinse-out conditioner, a deep conditioner or even a leave-in. So I tried it out ALL 3 three ways, on 3 separate occasions. YES, this 3oz container got at least 3 good uses out of it. Personally, I preferred it as a leave-in or a rinse out conditioner. It worked OK as a deep conditioner, but I did doctor it up with some oils because I needed ALOT of moisture. But as a leave-in it left my hair super soft and left a really nice sheen to my hair. The Butter Curls Moisturizing Styling Butter was my favorite. I use as a styler for twists outs & braid outs. This stuff is amazing! The smell is nothing “special” like all the other ones, but it doesn’t smell bad at all. It performed really well and gave a great hold and really nice shine. My hair was soft fluffy and silky. Even when Fernando touched my hair I used this, he was like , “O, babe what you use, your hair feels really soft.” So this Styling is everything! LOL Lastly is the Curly Roots Conditioning Pomade is a really nice pomade I use to take down my twist/braids and I also used it to seal my ends. It not heavy and does not leave my hair feeling greasy so that is a PLUS!

Overall, I enjoyed the entire line. I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve reviewed a line and have NOTHING negative to say. Everything performed better than expected and to top if off everything is competitively priced with everything else that is out there. And honestly why not spend that money on an ALL natural, black owned business line. Definitely check out their site at, www.kencharbody.com and click the sop tab! You will NOT be disappointed at all. And if you are ever at a Circle of Sisters Expo or anything like that check to see if she has a table, most of the time she probably will, but for sure at Circle of Sisters, which is by the way coming up October 2015.

My Favorite Styling Products

So I wanted to quickly list some of my favorite styling products (Don’t forget to check out the video as well, HERE!).

Chocolat_Smoothing_Collection

For blow drying, right now I am using the Carol’s Daughter Chocolat Smoothing Line.  I don’t blow dry my hair that often right now, but when I do I do reach for this line. I really have been enjoying. Tip: When using the blow dry cream, DO NOT apply a leave-in conditioner  before applying the blow dry cream. Your hair will feel like it has some build up. The Blow Dry Cream acts as a leave in and heat protectant. If you feel you must apply something before, use a light oil i.e., coconut oil or grapeseed oil. It’s A Review: Cantu Shea Butter Twist & Lock Gel

So you guys know I have been loving the Cantu for Natural Hair Line. So I have another review from the line for you guys, the Twist and Lock Gel. The product claims to lock in moisture, control frizz, lightweight and non-flaking. What it claimed to do, IT DID!! I was super surprised. I love when a product does what it says it is going to do.

HairCare Regimen/Staple Products

Yes I know I am so late getting this out, but my products don’t change too often, so you haven’t missed anything. With that being said I am just going to jump right into it, don’t forget to check out my video as well for more information.

In the past, I always alternated hot oil treatments and deep conditioning, week to week, but now I do them on the same week. I do prefer to deep condition over night, that is unless I am using coconut oil for my hot oil treatment, then I like using that as an overnight treatment instead. I generally wash my hair once a week. In the warmer months I co-wash SOMETIMES in between my weekly washes.

Now on to the products:

My Thoughts on Protective Styling

So started a protective style challenge back in September 2012. It was originally not on purpose, LOL, I just realized I spent the whole month of September in constant protective styles, so I decided just to continue doing so. My goal was to keep my hair in protective/low manipulation hair styles until my 2 year Naturalversary (which was April 9th, 2013).

Once I started my PSC, I was kind of bored. In the beginning all I was doing was different variations of the Marley Bun…LOL. Which don’t get me wrong I love my Marley Bun, but I just couldn’t justify doing that for the next 6 months…LOL. So eventually I stopped thinking about and just did styles as I thought of them, as you will see some examples below.
Protective StyleCollage

I did give my hair a break a day or two, here and there. Just to give my edges and nape a break as well. Also, before I decided to start my challenge, I already had a scheduled heat pass for October, for Fernando’s birthday, which I still took; at that time I blew out my hair (pictured below). It’s a Review: Cantu Shea Butter for Naturals [+Giveaway] (CLOSED)

Cantu

First, I would like to say thank you to Cantu for contacting me to try these products out. Everyone knows that the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner has been a staple in my hair regimen since before I even went natural and I swear by it to this day.

So I was given the opportunity to try out 3 out of the 6 Cantu Shea Butter for Naturals hair products. I was sent the Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream, Coconut Curling Cream and the Coconut Milk Shine & Hold Mist. All of these products contain No Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Parabens, Silicone, Phthalates, Gluten, Paraffin, Propylene, PABA or DEA. These products are very inexpensive retailing way under $10 and very accessible. I did a review and demo on my YouTube Channel, which you can check out here. I just want to go through and some of my pros and cons on each product.
