So I am back with a products review on some new products I received! I’ve been dying to try out this line so I am so stoked to share my thoughts on this line.
When I first caught wind of this line it was called Coco Curls, but they have rebranded themselves to focus on what their line is truly about…M-O-I-S-T-U-R-E! Moisture is main key to maintaining and caring for natural hair. I am so fortunate to be able to collaborate with this brand to bring you this review. NOW, don’t get it twisted even though this is a collaboration I am not being paid for this review, so all opinions are my own and my own experience with the line. Since that is out of the way, let’s just get into this review so I can answer all of your questions, and justify you going out and purchasing these products.
Let’s start off, the smell. The smell is pretty consistent throughout the line. Smells sweet like fresh baked pastries or something…LOL But definitely not overbearing but quite appealing.
For the Gentle Embrace Hydration Shampoo it is a pretty basic shampoo, has really nice consistency and creates a nice lather. Not a lot of bells & whistles to pull out. My hair was clean but not stripped, so if you like a non-stripping shampoo I highly recommend this one.
The Deep Indulgence Replenishing Conditioner is SUPER THICK!!! It is not runny at all, I kind of almost wished it was in a jar for me to scoop out. But I ended up using this as a Deep Conditioner, I only left in on for about 15-20mins w/ my Heat Therapy Wrap. My hair was really soft and I was able to detangle my hair pretty good with this conditioner.
The Kindred Spirits Moisture & Style Cream…we are Kindred Spirits!!! This is probably my favorite out of the entire line! When I first tried it, I tried it out on a Twist out which came out SUPER DEFINED and soft. A LITTLE BIT GOES A LONG WAY! I can’t stress this enough, even though the consistency is very light the moisture packs a HUGE punch. The next few times I tried it, I used it for my wash & go…and y’all KNOW I am not here for wash n gos usually, but with this product I must say I am a believer. My hair was So soft and defined, I got about a good 3-4 days out of both styles, which is about how often I do my hair anyway so that was perfect.
Lastly, the Sealed with a Kiss s Finishing Oil was a nice sealant, I used it 2 different ways (kind of) LOL When I did my twist out I did the LCO method when I did my wash n go I did my usually LOC method! It worked out nicely each way. The oil added a nice sheen to my hair as well as locking in the moisture!
Not that we have gotten the basics out of the way, let’s get down to the nitty gritty…Pricing. The pricing range is $16.50-$27.50. It is by no means the cheapest on the market but for what you are getting and and how long the products will last, to me it is completely worth it. So you’ll definitely get your moneys worth.
Did I mentioned this is a Black Own Business?? If not, well it is! And I’ll spend and extra few coins to support a B.O.B. #FACTS
Overall, I really enjoyed these products. The Moisture was on 100! Which is a great thing! The Style Cream is pretty light weight so for it to provide that much moisture it is mind boggling. In combination with the Hair Oil, I went 4-5 days without having to re-moisturize my hair and I had no product build up. My hair stayed super throughout the week and kept its elasticity.
I would defiantly repurchase, these products they are amazing & well worth a try!!

Like most of their exciting launches they had an awesome launch party in Manhattan, & y’all know I love me some NYC, plus I was invited, so I definitely had to show up! After arriving I was quickly filled in about what this product! Bottom-line…is is a Micellar Cleansing Serum…LOL Easy right??? Don’t worry I’ll break it down for you.
Miceller Water has been used in skincare before so that is nothing new, but what is new is that DevaCurl somehow figured out a way to incorporate this into a hair care product, the first of its kind! Yes, DevaCurl is THE 1st to do this! The Micellar Water in the Buildup Buster “attracts dirt like a magnet” to remove build up from the hair & scalp. It also contains Abyssinian Seed Oil & Jojoba which delivers moisture, shine & snaps your curls back into shape.
NowI know Abyssinian Oil maybe new to some of you, so without getting to detailed & long winded & chemist-like, Abyssinian oil is often compared to jojoba oil but it is much higher in erucic acid & means a stronger, intense moisturizer for your hair. It is a very stable & long-lasting seed oil that rapidly penetrates the outer layer of the epidermis, & because it is often compared to jojoba oil (meaning it mimics human sebum), it is very silky in texture & makes for a great natural alternative to silicones in haircare products With the erucic acid your hair gets a strong layer of protection against dehydration. Sounds Amazing Right?
Now back to the Buildup Buster This is a product meant to be used once weekly (or as needed), replacing your regular shampoo or co-wash for a deeper clean. So it is not “made” to be used as a pre-poo as I originally thought. But you know us naturals we always got to “test the waters” (no pun intended) so don’t be surprised if I end up trying this as a per-poo as well.
And, just like all DevaCurl products, Buildup Buster is sulfate-free, silicone-free & paraben-free.
Check out my first look of the Build Buster in the video below, whichI am also hosting a GIVEAWAY for one of my lucky readers/subscribers to win your very own bottle of the DevaCurl Buildup Buster. Click HERE to enter the giveaway!

So I got the opportunity to try out some hair extensions from Knappy Hair Extensions. I’ve never used clip-ins before so I was excited to see how I would use these.
To start off this set came with 9 clip ins:
4 – with 2 clips
2 – with 3 clips
2 – with 4 clips
1 – with 5 clips
The set also came with 2 additional clips you can sew-in, if additional support is needed, weft sealer (which I did seal the wefts) and care instructions.
I decided to use these clip-ins and install them all over my entire head, and have a little bit of leave out. and this worked out great. The style that I got was the Kinky Coarse 18″. Which was perfect. because it was just as long as my natural hair, so it was believable and not exaggerated, as you can see from the picture below.
Being that this is the first time I’ve used clip-ins, I was pleasantly surprised. If you want to see how I installed these clip ins, make sue to check our the video HERE.
Go check out these website for KRS Hair group: https://fbit.co/2ENl. They also offer wefts that you can sew-in, as well as closures, so you are bound to find something that suits what you are looking for.
FTC: Thank you to Knappy Hair Extensions for sponsoring this post.
This time it is on there Leave In Spray Protectant. I’ve actually used this product in the past and just revisited it recently.
For me this is mainly to protect my a=hair during heat styling. It is a really amazing spray to use when I want a very light and fluffy blow out, and won’t weigh down my hair like creamier products tend to do.
I also like using this spray when I am doing some kind of roller set, where I sit under a hooded dryer. It offers up a nice shine while protecting my strands.
Here are the products claims: This antioxidant rich leave in protectant is designed to fortify every strand of hair, creating texture, as well as protect your hair from the stress of heat styling. Our unique protective complex with pro-vitamins, proteins and amino acids infuse hair with vitamins while providing UV protection. For deeper natural and color-treated hair color. Excellent in controlling frizz and detangling.
Which I must agree it does fully live up to their claims.
If you are looking for other uses for this products besides heat styling, I would recommend spray on your hair before going out in the summer to protect your hair from the UV rays, especially if you have color treated hair.
If you interested in trying this product out make sure you check out the Shielo website.
Last month I had the pleasure of attending a product testing along with other influencers for a new and exciting product from DevaCurl. I’ve used DevaCurl products briefly in the past, but I hadn’t use their products in a LONG while, not for any particular reason so I was very excited to hear and learn about their new product that was geared towards coilier textures, plus this was the first time a major company reached out to me for me to work with them!!
I had the chance to personally test and use the new SuperCream Coconut Styler, which was release on July 7th, and I must say I was really impressed. This NEW rich, coconut oil infused styler contains key ingredients like coconut oil for healthy-looking shine and moisture, jojoba protein to boost elasticity and strengthen curls, and corn starch for touchable hold and frizz control. As with all of Devacurl products, the coconut styler does not contain any sulfates, and is paraben and silicone free. Now you guys know anything with coconut I am willing to try.
I did arrived to the testing event with a fresh wash n go BUT, I really wanted to see how well this product worked on freshly washed hair and do a style that I would normally do, as a wash n go is not a hair style I do often so I asked to have my hair washed. Isabella Vasquez quickly No Poo’d my hair and told me she wanted me to use the SuperCream as a detangler instead. I was instantly taken back, I was like OK?!? I usually detangle with a conditioner and NOT a styler, so I was so nervous. But I did managed to detangle and twist my hair in under 30 mins. NO COMB.
I sat under a hooded dryer for about an hour or so, since I obviously couldn’t really let it air dry overnight, Unraveled my twist and fluff up and picked the roots. I had shiny, soft, and a defined fluffy twist out. Super Cream is EVERYTHING!!
It’s nice to see Devacurl creating products for us 4 type textures because I was never drawn to DevaCurl because their products always seemed to be more geared towards looser textures and I just never really worked for me as my hair got longer, but now that they have this, They’ve gotten my attention. And I actually revisited some of their No Poo products and and Conditioners since trying the SuperCream and I must say I wonder why I stopped using their products, becasue they are really amazing. I am definitely going to be trying this product out more and more and in different ways. I highly recommend you Guys try it and let me know below what you think!
They do have a few more products coming out in the fall that are all about moisture! So make sure to follow them on Instagram for upcoming products announcements @mydevacurl
GIVEAWAY TIME!!! would like one of you guys to have the opportunity to try it SUPER CREAM. Here are the Giveaway Rules:
This was the 1st thing I’ve ever purchase from them. They are 100% Natural. These are considered their candles. So they are great on go if you are looking for a something to take with you when traveling. They have a wide variety of scents and I tell you NO lie…they smell EXACTLY how the label says AND once it’s lit it smells exactly how it does in the tin. The fragrance can fill the entire room so you don’t need multiple candle to scent one space. These are my absolute favorite candles I’ve ever purchased. My Personal Favorites are: Strawberry & Southern Peach.
I was sent A few of their body products, The Coconut Lime Hand Whipped Body Butter, Coconut Flakes Scrub and the Island Body Sunflower and Shea Body Cream. The Coconut Flake Scrub is AMAZING! It creates a really nice “milky” kinda of lather and make it really feel Spa like. It beads that they used are very fine, so it is very gentle on the skin. I’ve only used one other scrub in the past and this one is just so different in texture and the consistency is something I’ve never seen in a scrub before. This is definitely something I HIGHLY recommend. The Coconut Lime Whipped Body Butter is amazing! I is very moisturizing and kept my skin smooth all day. It also gave my skin a nice little “glow,” which I was really surprised about, something different. I wasn’t a really body butter lover in the past because I felt they were just TOO greasy. BUT, this one wasn’t, it absorbed right into my skin without sticking out to my clothes. Another thing I want to mention is the Shea Scents pocket-sized butter tins (not pictured). These are great to carry in your bag to re-moisturize your hands or body. I also used this to add moisture to my hair as well. Lastly, The Island Body Sunflower & Shea Body Cream it is a lighter texture so it still moisturizes very well, but not over whelming. The scent is more of a floral, unlike the Coconut Lime, which is more or an herbal/fruity scent.
Now One to the most exciting things that I was scent….THE HAIR PRODUCTS!!! Now I have been buying KenChar candles for the past 2-3 years…and I NEVER knew they sold hair products.
First thing I tried was the Curly Roots Coconut Conditioning Cream. At first when I looked at it, I thought it was a styler of some sort. But, after reading the label It says I can use a regular rinse-out conditioner, a deep conditioner or even a leave-in. So I tried it out ALL 3 three ways, on 3 separate occasions. YES, this 3oz container got at least 3 good uses out of it. Personally, I preferred it as a leave-in or a rinse out conditioner. It worked OK as a deep conditioner, but I did doctor it up with some oils because I needed ALOT of moisture. But as a leave-in it left my hair super soft and left a really nice sheen to my hair. The Butter Curls Moisturizing Styling Butter was my favorite. I use as a styler for twists outs & braid outs. This stuff is amazing! The smell is nothing “special” like all the other ones, but it doesn’t smell bad at all. It performed really well and gave a great hold and really nice shine. My hair was soft fluffy and silky. Even when Fernando touched my hair I used this, he was like , “O, babe what you use, your hair feels really soft.” So this Styling is everything! LOL Lastly is the Curly Roots Conditioning Pomade is a really nice pomade I use to take down my twist/braids and I also used it to seal my ends. It not heavy and does not leave my hair feeling greasy so that is a PLUS!
Overall, I enjoyed the entire line. I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve reviewed a line and have NOTHING negative to say. Everything performed better than expected and to top if off everything is competitively priced with everything else that is out there. And honestly why not spend that money on an ALL natural, black owned business line. Definitely check out their site at, www.kencharbody.com and click the sop tab! You will NOT be disappointed at all. And if you are ever at a Circle of Sisters Expo or anything like that check to see if she has a table, most of the time she probably will, but for sure at Circle of Sisters, which is by the way coming up October 2015.

Today I going to be reviewing Bargain Argan Oil! I was pretty anxious when I received this item because I’ve never used Aragn Oil before but I always heard great things. At first I planned on using it in my hair, but once I received it and used got a list of all the things I can do with it, I decided to use it on my skin and nails! Which was amazing!
I started applying this on my nail bed consistently every night before bed. My cuticles have always been on of my issues because I use to be an avid nail bitter. so my cuticles have always stayed dray and hard, even though it’s been YEARS since I’ve stopped biting my nails. But I am telling you, after about a week of using this stuff I notice my cuticles getting soft and staying moisturized.
Now as far as my skin goes, I’ve been using in ONE drop in my moisturizer. Since my skin is Oily I didn’t want to do too much. But I did notice that my skin stayed moisturized and more radiant.
This stuff is awesome and very inexpensive compared to the other kinds of Argan Oil it retails for a 2oz. bottle for $12.49. I’ve been using this size for about a month and I’ve barely gotten through half yet. So a little does go a long way. It comes it a twist up pointed knob, which make for easy application and less mess.
The customer service is great as well. They answered any questions that I had in a timely manner. So that was a great plus as well.
Over all, I think this is a great way company if you are not too sure about Argan Oil and give it a try. I plan on trying this out on my hair in the upcoming months. I will make sure to do an update when I do.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Finally!! I am here with my updated hair care regimen. This has been one the most requested items for me to do and I am finally getting to it.
Over the past year a few things have changed and few things have stayed the same. Also just to let you know all the products I mention in the post can be found in my Amazon Store HERE. Please note this is only going to focus on my MUST HAVE ITEMS and nothing else. I may do a separate post with my top 5 styling products, but for I’m gonna stick to basics of what actually contributes to my hair health, strength and growth. So let me jump right into it. As you guys know (or may not know) that my 3 year Nappiversary was April 9th. Here is a quick progression video and collage I put together of the growth! I will have my updated hair care regimen up soon, hopefully 🙂
This is my review on the King Me Hair (Kurly). I was so excited when I received this hair.
Once I installed it, no one even notice that it wasn’t my hair. The Kurly is the perfect match to my hair and very easy to blend. I HIGHLY recommend this hair. I have a 20inch and 18 inch installed.
