Cruelty-Free Cosmetics!! NU Evolution Cosmetics

I got the opportunity to try out a line that is new to me, called NU Evolution Cosmetics. Of course I had to come through and share with you guys my thoughts about this line. BUT before we jump into the nitty gritty of this line, I wanted to quickly go through the uniqueness of what this line is about.

This line is Cruelty-free, Vegan-Friendly & Gluten free brand. Their products contains Natural and Organic ingredients. So if you are conscience of the ingredients you like to use in your makeup or just a makeup junkie in general this is definitely a line you might want to try out. “For the Beauty Junkie WITHOUT the Junk” Defiantly check out THIS section of there site to see all the ingredient that don’t use, which include, Talc, Parabens, Dimethicone, etc. It also includes some details of why these ingredients are not ideal for cosmetics as it pertains to our health. So definitely read up on that, I found it super informative.
Ok so know that I’ve gotten the basics out of the way, let me dive into the products I received.
I received 2 Eye Shadows, Onyx & Versailles. Onyx is a Matte Black, it does have some shimmer specks in the pot, but it applies matte. Versailles is more of a Champagne shade, again it does have some shimmer specs, it does apply with a little sheen, but somewhere between a matte & an satin. They applied very smooth and were very pigmented. All of the eye shadows are individual and retail for $20 each.
I also received one of their Pressed Blushes, the shade is called Flushed. I would describe this shade as a muted pink. The shade on this is really nice, however I did find on my complexion I didn’t show up as well on me. I think if you are on the caramel side or fairer this shade who show up great. But no biggie, this can defiantly go in my make up kit to use on a client. The blushes are also sold individually, and retail for $28.
Next up is the Lipstick, The shade I received was Diva, a fuchsia shade. I REALLY liked this lipstick. It is super hydrating and moisturizing. To be honest, I am not usually a fan of “natural based” lipsticks because I find that it end up lacking the the pigment that I like, and surprisingly this lipstick was highly pigmented. These lipsticks retail for $30.
Color Corrector
Lastly, is the Base products!! Camouflage Cream, Foundation & the pressed powder. I am always here for a great foundation and base. So I was really excited about trying these out for sure. The Camouflage Cream shade I received is Disguise. Which is definitely on more of the peachy corrector type of shade. This cream is really thick and pigmented and a little bit goes a long way. Now this type of corrector is a little too light for me but, I don’t know if you guys remember, but I talked about on L.A. Girl pro concealer I thought was a little to dark so when I received this I felt it was actually perfect to mix with my L.A. Girl pro orange corrector and it worked out really well. This products retails for $32.
Next is probably my favorite item OVERALL, which is the Complete Cover Foundation. My PERFECT match is the shade 104. When I say PERFECT match, I mean PERFECT MATCH!!!! The shade is spot on, I didn’t need to do anything to “make it work,” IT JUST WORKED. The coverage is definitely build-able, I would say a Medium to Full Coverage. Not cakey at all. I would say the finish is definitely skin like, but my skin was stayed matte (which I think related to the next product I am going to talk about). This foundation was amazing!! Definitely somewhere the top of my list as far as, favorite foundations go. I couldn’t think of one thing I didn’t like about this foundation. Love the packaging for sure, it is plastic (though I prefer glass bottles), but it does have the airless pump with is a plus. This foundation retails for $47, & IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Just take my money!!! LOL
Lastly is the Pressed Powder Foundation. This is my 2nd favorite item that I received. I used this powder to set my foundation. These two together are like PB&J! Match made! The shade that I used in the powder is 204. The powder is also great to just apply after a spot conceal and wear it as your foundation. It gives medium to full coverage, so also build-able. Also love the packaging on this as well, the compact is super thin and elegant. Light enough for travel or to just trow in your purse and go. The powder retails for $45.
Overall, I was really impressed with the quality of this line. The fact that there products are able to perform just as well as the brands the use the harsh chemicals, is really impressive. One thing I would like to see is this brand grow, as far as shade ranges go. It’s a decent start but can definitely tons of room for improvement. I would’ve definitely loved to try out a loose powders because y’all know I love a good loose powder,  but they did not have a shade for me. Which is of course discouraging, but they did have the basics I needed and I can appreciate that for sure. But if you are darker than me, you definitely won’t be able to find a foundation shade. But I also have to keep in mind that this is a Boutique Makeup Line, so it is on a waaaayyy smaller scale. But I highly recommend to  check out this line.
What items would you thinking about trying out? Leave it down in the comments section.

I did a unboxing on my channel last week, but I also wanted to post some pictures of the NEW brush sets available from the Royal and Langnickel. These are the MODA MYTHICAL line! So Let’s just jump right into this, because you guys already know how I love the brushes from Royal & Langnickel so there’s no need for me to get into that right?

They are super unique and so much more affordable than some of the other brushes I’ve seen that look similar to these. This set is exclusive to Walmart and can be purchase HERE! (Don’t forget to use EBATES to get that cash back as well!!) Price just under $17 on the Walmart site, you can’t go wrong.

This kit includes:

  • Domed Shadow Brush: Apply eye shadow smoothly to define eyes.
  • Crease Brush: Perfect for precision blending in the crease of the eye, however since this brush falls in the larger side of my mini eyes, I like to use this brush to contour my nose, or apply a sweep of color to my lid or inner tear duct area.
  • Angle Eyeliner Brush: Soft angle brush with a chisel edge for a precise line at the lash line or brows (By far my FAVORITE sized angled brush).
  • MODA Holographic Zip Case

Splash Travel Kit

Can you say MERMAID!! Ok Ariel, I see you!! HA! This 6pc set (includes holographic flip case, not pictured) is for all the mermaid lovers out there. This set can be found on the Royal & Langnickel site for under $20 (make sure to use my coupon code: TOTALDIVAREA for 10% off) Check the out HERE!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Review

So I decided to step back into the drugstore foundation game, after being out for over 2 years. So I know I am late on it, but i decided to finally try the Maybelline Fit Me Matte +Poreless.

This foundation claims to be a tone & texture fitting foundation w/ a natural fit. This formula is for Normal to Oily Skin. I also says it contains blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish.

Light creamy formula with no distinct scent.

Now I will won’t say that I loved it right off the bat, because I didn’t. The shade I picked up is Coconut 355. The first time applied it and wore it all day  it felt like my skin ended up being really oily a lot sooner than some of my other foundations. Also the shade to me was a bust! See picture below. It was super ashy and kinda gray.

…Now I knew since that was 1st drugstore foundation in a long while, I decided 2 give it a 2nd chance. So, I went back to Walgreens and picked up a deeper shade, Mocha 360. I did end up mixing the 2 together to get my perfect match, but that is not a big deal to me. Now, once I found a shade combo that worked for me & found an application that worked, I was impressed.

I love this formulation because it provides a smooth, matte medium-full coverage look while still looking natural! This foundation is great for daily use and priced under $10 you have nothing to lose. For a flawless finish, I apply a dime-quarter sized dollop (depending on coverage wanted)  on the back of my hand and applied and blended it out with a damp beauty blender. To set the foundation, I then used my usual Black Opal Finishing Powder.

  • Great, Competitive Price Point
  • Matte finish
  • Lightweight
  • Doesn’t oxidize
  • Buildable

  • May have to mix shades for perfect match
  • Not long-wearing
  • Doesn’t stay matte all day
  • May have to mix shades for perfect match
  • Can cause break outs

Have you guys tried this foundation? What your thoughts and experiences?

Real Purity Skincare Line First Look

Hey Guys!!

So I am here with quick review & demo of some new products I received from Real Purity.

They offer a wide variety of All Natural products for hair, skin, and makeup. But today I will be focusing only on the skincare line they offer. I received a few products from the line and wanted to share them with you guys.

First up is the Cleansing Facial Gel. With only 5 ingredients, it will restore your skin’s pH balance and leave no oily residue behind. Which I must say is very impressive. For me, this is a very different cleanser for me. Mainly because it did not suds up as most of my other cleansers do (as you will see below), however, my skin felt super clean, so no complaint here.

Now the Daily Facial Scrub is one of my favorites. Mainly because it has one of my favorite natural anti-again & evening skin tone agents in it… GRAPEFRUIT!! Now if you guys have been following me you know I love grapefruit and the effects it has on your skin. And now that I have this scrub it is perfect to add to my current skincare routine. And FYI I only use scrubs when I am going to be makeup, which ends up being about 2-3 times a week. It is a perfect way to remove any dead skin or dry patches so your foundation doesn’t settle into those areas.

After all that cleaning and scrubbing it’s time to tone. The toner I used is the Green Tea Toner. This was my first time trying out a “tea-style” of toner. This formula is meant to restore the natural pH of your skin by controlling oil production. Which I definitely need with my oily combination skin type. I was very impressed with the results of this. My skin felt very smooth and refreshed, and had no excess dirt.

Now to moisturizer is used the Daily Balancing Facial Cream. This one is my absolute FAVORITE out of everything. This moisturizer went on sooo smooth. It is formulated for normal to oily skin, that balances oil control with light skin hydration. The finished felt very matte and not oily at all. Personally, I felt it helped with my pores as well, PERFECT for using under foundation.

Lastly, I tried the Papaya Facial Mask. (not shown in video) I choose to use this one because at the time I was having some breaks outs and felt like my skin need a little extra care. Papaya extract acts as a natural exfoliant as it gently dissolves dead skin cells. I left on for 20 minutes as recommended. It has kind of a mud mask feel but was very easy to rinse off, leaving my skin feeling super soft. I would only recommend this one if you are going through a breakout, other than that it is not really necessary for regular use.

I have yet to try the Green Apple Mask or the Acne Soap but I will keep you guys updated as I try those out.

Definitely, check out the video below for the unboxing & Demo to see a few of these products in action.
